OFCCP Will Not Use EEO-1 Report Component 2 Data

by | November 26, 2019

The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) announced that it will not request, accept, or use data from Component 2 of the EEO-1 Report. According to its Notice published to the Federal Register, OFCCP “…does not expect to find significant utility in the data given limited resources and its aggregated nature.” Though the agency acknowledged the potential for Component 2 data to be used in OFCCP’s scheduling process, the data is “…not collected at a level of detail that would enable OFCCP to make comparisons among similarly situated employees as required by the Title VII standards…”

Recently, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), which is responsible for the collection of EEO-1 data, announced that it will not seek renewed approval for Component 2 of the EEO-1 report. However, it will continue to collect traditional demographic data through Component 1, which OFCCP intends to continue using for the scheduling of compliance reviews.
