EEOC Provides Status Report on Collection of Component 2 Data
On November 1st, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) provided an update on its efforts to collect compensation data for calendar years 2017 and 2018. EEOC stated that as of November 1, 82.4% of eligible filers had completed submission of this data, referred to as EEO-1 component 2 data. 81.5% of filers had submitted component 2 data for calendar year 2017, while 83.3% of filers had submitted component 2 data for calendar year 2018.
EEOC is reaching out to eligible filers in order to increase the number of organizations that are providing component 2. EEOC is working with the contractor that has been collecting data, NORC at the University of Chicago, in these outreach efforts. NORC has emailed all organizations that have begun but not yet completed the submission of their component 2 data. Additionally, NORC will have extended hours at its help desk for filers who need assistance.
EEOC recently updated its website with information regarding the court order that requires the component 2 data collection portal to remain open until January 31, 2020. (See our blog post in regard to this court order.) NORC also updated the component 2 website with this information.
