EEOC Publishes Initial Notice Regarding EEO-1 Compensation Component
On Monday, April 29, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) published an initial notice regarding the inclusion of pay data in the annual EEO-1 report. EEOC was required to publish this initial notice on April 29 by the District Court overseeing the case involving the collection of pay data.
EEOC’s initial notice reads in part as follows:
The EEOC expects to begin collecting [the compensation component of the EEO-1 report] for calendar year 2018 in mid-July, 2019, and will notify filers of the precise date the survey will open as soon as it is available…EEOC will also collect [pay data] for either calendar year 2017 or calendar year 2019, and will post an additional notice by May 3, 2019, announcing its decision.
EEOC reminded the employers required to file the EEO-1 report that the data traditionally submitted as part of the EEO-1 report must be submitted no later than May 31, 2019. This data must cover a fourth quarter payroll for 2018.
We will continue to follow this situation as it develops.
