EEO-1 Component 2 Pay Data Collection Portal Open
On Monday, July 15, 2019, EEOC announced that its web-based portal for the collection of 2017 and 2018 EEO-1 Component 2 data is active. “Component 2” refers to the portion of the EEO-1 report that requires organizations meeting the 100-employee threshold to submit information on pay and hours worked for their employees by race, gender, EEO-1 category, and salary band. Both the 2017 and 2018 Component 2 reports must be submitted by September 30, 2019. Organizations that meet the 100-employee threshold are now able to submit their information online.
Organizations that file EEO-1 information should have received a notice in July from the EEOC outlining how to report and file the Component 2 data. In addition to the notice, the EEOC has provided a number of FAQs and other supporting information pertaining to the filing of the Component 2 data on the agency’s website.
Organizations can file their Components 2 data by using the online portal to manually enter information for each facility where a separate EEO-1 report is required. As of August 15, the EEOC has also enabled the secure file upload function for Component 2 data.
